Glenfarclas is probably my favourite Speyside and I was soon drawn to a bottle of 25 yr old among all the other 'quality' malts on offer.
I have fond memories of Glenfarclas, it was the first Speyside distillery that I visited - it was closed for production and the guides had been given some time off so one of the stillmen showed us around and I'm sure it was better tour! When we got back to the visitors centre he was as generous with the whisky as he had been with his time and knowledge and I walked away with several bottles and have been hooked ever since.
The 25 yr old is glorious, butterscotch, nuts, juicy sweet fruits, very warm and smooth.
